TIGERCITY ANNOUNCE SPRING TOUR WITH VHS OR BETA

Make Appearance at SXSW 2008

Brooklyn's Tigercity take to the road this spring and pick up where they left off this past fall. Over the next few months they play multiple shows across the United States, including dates at SXSW 2008 and a 30+ date run with VHS or Beta beginning in April.

Their highly danceable pop is a blend of The Cars, Roxy Music, and modern indie rock. A recent SPIN.com band of the day, in the last year Tigercity have appeared on PRI's "Fair Game", recorded a session with prominent indie website Daytrotter.com and received love from multiple blogs ranging from Loose Record to Music For Robots. In 2007 they self-released their Pretend Not To Love EP, which was recognized as an iTunes "Indie Spotlight". They were also recently selected as one of the bands for Volume One of the Shout It Out Loud Music compilation. Distributed in partnership with HARP magazine, the carefully curated compilation features a wide array of promising new artists such as Cut Off Your Hands and Georgie James, as well as established acts like MSTRKFT and Rhett Miller.

All of these accomplishments have come without label support, and serve to exemplify the bands work ethic and drive to create their own opportunities rather than sit idle and wait for them to arise. Tigercity have been steadily making a name for themselves in NYC and around the country. They toured heavily in 2007, and have shared the stage with acts including but not limited to M.I.A., Junior Boys, The Rosebuds, Jamie Lidel, and David Cross.

When not on the road they've been working on new material and making homemade guacamole.
