LING PLEADS GUILTY TO DISTURBING THE PEACE

Chinese actress BAI LING has been fined $200 (GBP100) after pleading guilty to disturbing the peace in relation to her recent arrest on suspicion of shoplifting.

The Crow star was picked up by police on 13 February (08) after walking into a terminal gift shop at Los Angeles International Airport and leaving with two magazines and a pack of batteries without paying for the goods, worth just $16.22 (GBP8.11).

The 37-year-old has since insisted the episode was just part of a "crazy day", blaming the incident on the pressures caused by the "huge problem" of breaking up with her boyfriend just before Valentine's Day (14Feb08).

Ling was also ordered on Wednesday (05Mar08) by a Los Angeles judge to pay several hundred dollars in fees, including court costs.
