SPICE GIRLS WILL ONLY REUNITE FOR MANDELA

The SPICE GIRLS have quashed reports they will never reunite again by offering to perform for former South African president NELSON MANDELA.

The British girl group are nearing the end of their three-month world tour and recently confessed it could be the last time they would share a stage.

But the band have reconsidered their options and are hoping they will be asked to perform for Mandela at his 90th birthday celebrations in June (08).

Melanie Chisholm says, "We're great friends of Mr. Mandela and we would love to perform for him again."

Geri Halliwell adds, "We were privileged enough to meet the man and he is just amazing.

"He's just an example of strength and humility and if we could be part of that, celebrating his life - wow."

The Spice Girls met Mandela during a visit to Johannesburg in 1997, when he famously referred to them as his "heroes".

Queen stars Brian May and Roger Taylor are among those who have already signed up to perform at the event at London's Hyde Park.
