Veteran actor PERRY LOPEZ has died of lung cancer. He was 76.
Lopez, who is best known for his role as Lieutenant Lou Escobar in the 1974 classic Chinatown, passed away in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday (14Feb08).
Born in New York, Lopez began his career on the New York stage before finding work as a character actor in movies including Creature From The Black Lagoon, and The Lone Ranger.
He went on to star in movies such as Kelly's Heroes, Chinatown and its 1989 sequel The Two Jakes and Death Wish 4: The Final Crackdown.
Lopez also appeared in TV shows including Star Trek, Hart To Hart and Charlie's Angels.
