DEAD PREZ GIG MARRED BY RIOTING FANS

DEAD PREZ's concert in Washington on Friday night (15Feb08) ended in chaos when rioting fans overturned a police car and caused more than $30,000 (GBP15,000)-worth of damage.

The trouble erupted after the duo's gig at Evergreen State College in the early hours of Friday, when a fight broke out inside the College Recreation Center.

A police officer from Thurston County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene and arrested one man for his alleged role in the fracas.

But fans protested the "unfair" arrest of the unidentified man and began taunting the female officer, before the growing crowd became more aggressive and attempted to block the patrol car from exiting the venue.

The officer released the suspect amid fears for her safety, and instead took down the man's details so he could be summoned to court at a later date.

But the riots escalated when people began throwing rocks and bottles at the other cop cars which had arrived as back-up.

And when one police vehicle was grounded due to engine problems, angry concert-goers pounced and attacked the car, smashing in the windows and rolling it onto its roof.

Thurston County Chief Criminal Deputy James Chamberlain revealed that three other sheriff's patrol cars and one campus police car had also been damaged, reports AllHipHop.com.
