DOG IS TOP PRIORITY IN MACLAINE'S LIFE

Actress SHIRLEY MacLAINE rates the opinion of her pet dog TERRY so highly, she ditches any potential suitors who fail to impress the little mutt.

The Terms Of Endearment star owns 11 other canines but insists rat terrier Terry is her favourite; she even purchases a seat for the beloved pooch when she travels by plane.

Asked if she could love anyone who didn't like her dog, she responds: "That would be out of the question. She is a good judge of character.

"She is territorial about women. When I bring a female friend home she'll jump up on her lap and flirt. I think she's jealous. She wants to be the only female in my life."
