SPEARS DROPPED AS STYLE MANSION PARTY HOST
BRITNEY SPEARS has been dropped as the host of a lavish Beverly Hills St. Valentine's Day gift party because organisers fear she's too ill to attend.
Danish businessman Claus Hjelmbak asked the singer to host the swanky party at the lavish Scandinavian Style Mansion last month (Jan08) and was delighted when Spears agreed. But now he has rescinded the invitation, stating, "I personally feel that the most important thing for her now is to focus on her health and get the help she needs and deserves." Spears is currently in hospital on a 72-hour psychiatric hold following an intervention at her Hollywood Hills home in the early hours of Thursday morning (31Jan08). Hjelmbak tells People.com, "Britney is not being fired, nor is she deemed unfit for the role as a host. "I have decided to give some of the proceeds from the sales of VIP passes to a charity of Britney Spears' choice."
