SWEDEN NAMES STREET AFTER BERGMAN

Late filmmaker INGMAR BERGMAN is to be honoured in his native Sweden with the renaming of a street in his memory.

Stockholm city council has announced plans to name a landmark street after the writer/director died in July last year (07) at the age of 89.

The street is located near the Royal Dramatic Theatre Bergman headed from 1963 to 1966 and to which he returned frequently to direct plays.

An adjoining small square will also be renamed Ingmar Bergman Square.
