U.K. UPHOLDS SNOOP BAN

SNOOP DOGG has failed in his bid to persuade U.K. officials to lift a ban preventing him from entering the country.

The Beautiful hitmaker, real name Calvin Broadus, is prohibited form entering Britain after he was involved in a brawl at London's Heathrow Airport in April 2006 - but recently wrote to the Home Office in a bid to get the order overturned.

Broadus was keen to visit the U.K. this month (Jan08) to launch a new advertisement for European mobile phone giant Orange, but attempts by both the telecoms company and the rapper himself to gain a visa have failed, according to Allhiphop.com.

The incident at the British airport left seven police officers injured and led to the star being handed a caution for affray and a ban on returning to the country.

Broadus' criminal record also led to him being denied entry into Australia in April 2007.
