LIL' WAYNE HOURS LATE TO CONCERT

Rapper LIL' WAYNE was more than three hours late to a concert on Saturday (26Jan08) - after he spent the day in court over his recent charges of drugs and weapons offences.

The hip-hop star - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. - was arrested on three felony counts by Arizona police earlier this week (23Jan08) and now faces charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and misconduct involving weapons.

But despite his plane rerouting while en route to Richmond, Virginia, the rapper was determined to appear at the Landmark Theatre, where angry fans were forced to wait for hours, reports AllHipHop.com.

He told the sellout crowd, "I just flew in 10 minutes ago. I just had to deal with a whole lot of bulls**t today, but I guess you know that.

"I want you to know that no one in this building had nothing to do with the attitude I got right now . . . some (stuff) happened today that made me look at life in a different way. I'm (ticked) off to the highest point right now and trying to get it together for y'all."

The 25-year-old is scheduled to appear in a Wellton, Arizona court on 12 February for a preliminary hearing.

Lil' Wayne was previously arrested on drugs charges in Atlanta, Georgia in 2006. He is also currently facing illegal gun possession charges and is due to appear in court in New York on 25 February (08).
