LATIFAH URGES L.A. POLICE TO LOOK TO LOUISIANA

CHICAGO star QUEEN LATIFAH has urged Los Angeles police officials to follow the example set by the rural cops who looked after her as she was making new film MAD MONEY in Louisiana - and start treating celebrities like real people.

The actress/singer admits she was stunned by the lengths local police officers went to protect her and co-stars Diane Keaton and Katie Holmes from paparazzi and the media.

She says, "Sometimes people don't love us and they have sick ideas about what they'd like to see happen to us.

"In that sense safety is very important and the Shreveport police department was incredible. I wish the LAPD was more like that because they were just regular people going for somebody acting disrespectfully.

"They booted a few people off the set and it was nice. It was nice for someone to treat us like human beings and look out for us as opposed to suck off of us like we're some celebrity who did something wrong to them and don't deserve to be treated like a human."
