CONTI ANGERED BY BUCKINGHAM PALACE 'WEST WING' SHOW

British actor TOM CONTI is outraged after a TV network commissioned a show about life at Buckingham Palace in the same style as hit U.S. drama THE WEST WING.

The Shirley Valentine star spent several years planning a similar programme only to have his pitch rejected by ITV.

And Conti is angry that the channel have now commissioned new series The Palace - a fictional drama about the Royal family - which he claims is in the same format as his original idea.

A source tells British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, "Tom couldn't believe it. We all think it's outrageous. I can't think this kind of thing would ever happen in America."
