American singer/songwriter DAN FOGELBERG has died, aged 56.
Fogelberg passed away on Sunday (16Dec07) following a three-year battle with prostate cancer.
A spokesman for the star says, "He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side.
"His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him."
The singer was famed for his hits Leader Of The Band and Same Old Lang Syne and was credited in helping define the soft-rock era.
