WINEHOUSE IMPLICATED IN HUSBAND'S BRIBERY PLOT

Troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE is facing police questioning after she was implicated in the bribery plot for which her husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL was jailed.

The Back To Black star has been ordered to present herself to detectives this week (beg17Dec07) to be quizzed over accusations she may have been involved in the scheme for which Fielder-Civil is awaiting trial on charges of perverting the course of justice in relation to a charge of grievous bodily harm .

Fielder-Civil was arrested and imprisoned last month (Nov07). He was originally due to stand trial on 12 November (07) for allegedly assaulting barman James King in June last year (06).

But the trial was halted over allegations Fielder-Civil attempted to fix the outcome by offering King $400,000 (GBP200,000) and a free holiday to withdraw his statement. Five other men, including Michael Brown, 25, from Holloway, London, have all been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

However, police have now turned their attentions to Fielder-Civil's famous wife, confiscating mobile phone records, bank details and computer software which could provide evidence of the star's alleged involvement in the plot. Last week (beg10Dec07) cops also visited the singer's accountants, the prestigious London-based firm Smallfield Cody, in an attempt to track all of her financial dealings.

A source tells British newspaper the News Of The World, "When police received their initial information the inquiry centred on Blake, his friend Brown and the original victim in the case.

"But after seizing a number of documents, it seems there is forensic evidence that may tie Amy directly to the plot. When you think about it, as soon as the figure of GBP200,000 emerged, the finger of suspicion started to point in her direction. How could Blake, who does precious little for a living, be expected to come up with that kind of money?"
