BUNTON ON CRUTCHES FOR SPICE GIRLS' U.K. DEBUT

SPICE GIRL EMMA BUNTON has sparked fears she won't be fit to perform in London after spraining her ankle - just seven performances into the group's reunion tour.

The star took a tumble onstage at the Mandalay Arena in Las Vegas on Tuesday (11Dec07), twisting her ankle. Bunton has been on crutches ever since, and had to be assisted onto the newly-christened Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747 jet - named Spice One - at LAX on Wednesday (12Dec07) bound for London.

But Bunton insists the injury won't stop her from taking the stage for the band's first U.K. date on Saturday (15Dec07) at the capital's 02 Arena.

She says, "Last night I had a tumble on stage and unfortunately I have sprained my ankle, so I'm hobbling around on crutches! I'm sure to make a speedy recovery and see you all at the O2."

A spokesperson for the star confirms the injury is "not too serious" and reassured fans "all will be well" for Saturday's gig.
