Welsh rockers MANIC STREET PREACHERS have slammed RADIOHEAD for ruining the music industry.
Radiohead stunned the record business last month (Oct07) by releasing In Rainbows as a digital download and allowing customers to choose their own price - but bassist Nicky Wire insists the move further damaged the current fragile state of the industry.
He says, "Fair play to Radiohead for doing something different. It's certainly great for publicity but I think it kind of demeans music.
"Music used to be a market, now it's all gone digital. It's worrying and it seems to be the way of the world at the moment."
And Wire believes TV talent shows are also responsible for sabotaging the music scene.
He adds, "I can't bear The X Factor judges and the s**t they put out every year. It's just a load of talentless f**kwits that destroy the music industry."
