BECKHAM: 'TRUE FANS PASS OUT WHEN THEY MEET ME'

VICTORIA BECKHAM can recognise a 'true fan' when she meets one - because her most dedicated followers fall unconscious.

The 33-year-old Spice Girl was mobbed by fans earlier this year (Sep07) when she arrived in Japan to promote a new line of cosmetics and encountered several devotees who proved their commitment by shedding tears upon meeting their idol.

In a video posting on her official website, she says, "It was amazing at the airport - there were lots of lovely Japanese people there to greet us. There were tears. I always like that, I think that it shows you are a true fan when you cry or when you pass out.

"When the paramedics are called I think that is a good sign - it shows real determination as a fan."
