AMERICAN IDOL'S SIERRA ARRESTED AFTER DRUNKEN BRAWL

Former AMERICAN IDOL contestant JESSICA SIERRA has been arrested for assault and drug possession - less than a fortnight after she was sentenced to a year's probation for a separate incident.

The disgraced star, 22, is alleged to have caused a disturbance at Florida's Full Moon Saloon in Ybor City early on Saturday morning (01Dec07), and was taken into custody by local authorities after refusing to leave the bar on cops' orders.

Sierra was charged with felony counts of possession of cocaine and battery, in addition to two misdemeanours: disorderly intoxication and obstructing or opposing an officer, reports TMZ.com.

According to the police report, the arresting officers wrote: "As the defendant was taken into custody, she attempted to push away and flee the scene."

She is currently being held at the Orient Road Jail with no bail.

Sierra was sentenced to probation on 19 November (07) in relation to an April (07) incident, in which she was accused of hitting a man on the head with a glass at a Tampa, Florida, nightclub. She was also charged with cocaine possession after cops found a small amount of the illegal substance on her as she was taken to jail.

The singer checked into a California rehab facility in July (07) to tackle her drug demons as part of a forthcoming reality TV show, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
