FERGIE + WILL.I.AM SPARKLE AT AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

FERGIE and BLACK EYED PEAS bandmate will.i.am made the perfect couple as they opened the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night (18Nov07).

Sexy Fergie wore a shimmering silver mini-dress and killer red heels for a rendition of Fergalicious with will.i.am, who donned a velvet tuxedo and top hat.

London Bridge singer Fergie went on to twist through a rock 'n' roll-fuelled Clumsy, and, as her dancers fled the stage, she completed her medley with ballad Big Girls Don't Cry.

Then supersmart will.i.am returned to the stage at Los Angeles' new Nokia Theatre, switching his velvet tux for a silver one and sporting braids for a rendition of his new song Heartbreaker.

The triple threat at the opening of the AMAs continued as Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger took to the stage to perform Baby Love with will.i.am.

Silver and black seemed to be a theme of the night - Scherzinger copied Fergie by donning a shiny, off-the-shoulder silver mini-gown.

The event made history by becoming the first major awards ceremony determined by online voting. Votes were collected between 9 October and 2 November (07).
