WINSTONE: 'BEOWULF WAS MOST DEMANDING ROLE'

Hard-man actor RAY WINSTONE has branded his role in new movie BEOWULF the most gruelling of his career.

Ray Winstone as the Viking hero, Beowulf, has set sail in search of future glory in “Beowulf.”

The 50-year-old star, who plays the eponymous hero in the CGI adventure, even broke bones while shooting the epic tale.

He says, "It was the most physical job I have done in my life. I was on wires, running up walls and spinning. You are tearing up a metal frame, which represents the dragon or pounding a stuntman. I would go home every night and relax in a hot bath of Radox.

"I broke two or three ribs. I thought I was Errol Flynn. I swung in to get the dragon's heart and it was like, 'tally-ho, chaps' and I went crash, right into a metal bar."
