WINEHOUSE BREAKS DOWN BEFORE GIG

Troubled star AMY WINEHOUSE almost refused to perform on the debut night of her U.K tour over fears for her incarcerated husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL.

Amy Winehouse performs live on stage at the NIA on the first night of her UK tour, Birmingham, England - 14.11.07

The singer reportedly locked herself in a bathroom for 30 minutes ahead of the concert in Birmingham, England on Wednesday (14Nov07) and considered cancelling the tour after Fielder-Civil was held in London's Pentoville Prison on remand for allegedly perverting the course of justice.

Winehouse reportedly said, "I can't go on without Blake. How can I live without him? I need him. I need my baby."

But concert crew managed to persuade the 24-year-old to continue with her tour.

A source tells British newspaper The Daily Mirror, "Her aides and our staff went into panic mode as Amy refused to leave the loo (toilet). We could hear her sobbing from outside. She was saying she couldn't go on without Blake.

"It made everyone worry she would do something stupid to herself. Eventually aides convinced her to come out and that everything would be okay, but it was touch and go for a while."

Winehouse eventually dedicated the opening concert to Fielder-Civil but was booed off stage by fans.
