Veteran rocker KEITH RICHARDS led thousands of people in a demonstration to save his local hospital.
The Rolling Stone was joined by his ex-wife Patti Hansen and British actors Patricia Routledge and Christopher Timothy at the 15,000 strong protest against proposals to downgrade services at St Richard's Hospital in Chichester, West Sussex on Saturday (27Oct07).
The star, 62, arrived at the demonstration in a minibus, dressed in a long black leather coat, and carried a poster that warned people would die if the hospital closed.
Richards has owned Redlands in nearby West Wittering since the 1960s although his main home is in Connecticut, USA.
