COLE: 'I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR DRUG ADDICTS'

GIRLS ALOUD star CHERYL COLE has no sympathy for drug addicts and insists drug-abusing celebrities like PETE DOHERTY are a 'waste of fresh air'.

CHERYL COLE

The British singer plans to open a support network for families of drug addicts when her pop career ends after seeing a close friend die from a heroin overdose two years ago.

She says, "That nightmare devastated family and friends. But I don't have sympathy for the addicts. I don't give a f*** how they feel. If they're in pain, it's self-inflicted."

And Cole admits she is "devastated" to see Amy Winehouse "going down that road" but blames celebrities like Pete Doherty for glamorising heroin use.

She adds, "Pete Doherty is a waste of fresh air. Why are pictures of celebs shooting up entertainment? It's like the Mickey Mouse club and it's not f***ing funny."
