LATEST: NAS has clashed with Def Jam over his plans to drop his controversially-titled new album NIGGA in December (07) - because the record label does not have any of the rapper's new material scheduled for release this year (07).
The Hip-Hop Is Dead star announced his intentions to test race issues with the new album during a Friday night (12Oct07) show at New York's Roseland Ballroom - but bosses at Def Jam are only aware of the release of his Greatest Hits album - which will hit stores in November (07).
A source close to label CEO Antonio 'L.A.' Reid tells FoxNews.com, "There is no album release by Nas on the release schedule at this point.
"And they would be unlikely to release an album with that title. How would that look at Wal-Mart?"
However, representatives for both Nas and Def Jam have confirmed to AllHipHop.com that the new LP will stick to the sensitive title, Nigga.
