British pop group GIRLS ALOUD have vowed to stop recording cover versions of other artists' songs - because they don't do the originals justice.

Five of the girl group's 16 single releases since 2002 have been reworkings of classic hits, but singer Cheryl Cole insists the band will now only produce new material.
She says, "There's not one single cover on our album (new LP Tangled Up). We don't need to do them anymore.
"You get so fed up of it, and so do the fans. You can never better the original."
