VON TRAPP DIES

THE SOUND OF MUSIC inspiration WERNER VON TRAPP, a member of the famed Von Trapp singing troupe, has died. He was 91.

He passed away on Thursday (11Oct07), at his home in Waitsfield, Vermont.

Von Trapp was best known for being portrayed as Kurt in the Oscar-winning 1965 musical, which was based on a book written by his stepmother Maria in 1949.

He is survived by three sisters and one brother.
