BOY GEORGE SUED FOR $62,000

British singer BOY GEORGE has been ordered to pay $62,000 (GBP31,000) in compensation to a club promoter after cancelling a gig in Los Angeles.

BOY GEORGE

The former Culture Club frontman was sued by Kasia Saleh after he refused to perform at a Halloween show at Club GAY USA in 2005.

The businesswoman, from Manchester, England, claimed his failure to headline her L.A. launch event led to the collapse of the brand.

Manchester High Court in England heard the 46-year-old - real name George O'Dowd - pulled out of the event following his arrest for possession of cocaine.

The judge ordered George to pay $62,000 to compensate Saleh and cover costs.
