LANGHAM TO APPEAL CHILD PORN CONVICTION

Disgraced British actor CHRIS LANGHAM is to appeal his 10-month jail sentence for child pornography charges.

The 58-year-old comedy star was found guilty in August (07) on all 15 counts of making indecent images of a child, following the police discovery of explicit films on his home computer.

Langham maintained his innocence throughout the trial, claiming the internet downloads were part of his research for BBC TV drama Help.

And his lawyers have now filed papers to fight the conviction at London's Appeal Court in an effort to have the sentence overturned.

Langham is expected to serve just five months of his sentence, with authorities also taking into account the 43 days spent in custody prior to his conviction.
