BECKHAM WANTS FATHER WITH HIM IN LOS ANGELES

LATEST: English soccer star DAVID BECKHAM wants his father TED to fly to Los Angeles to recuperate from his recent heart attack, according to reports.

The 59-year-old gas fitter is in a stable condition at the London Chest Hospital in Bethnal Green, England, following his health scare last Wednesday (26Sep07).

The LA Galaxy player, 32, flew back to the U.S. with his wife Victoria on Sunday (30Sep07) - but he is keen to have his dad over to visit as he regains his full strength.

A family friend tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "(David) wants him to take it easy and get better with the family at their new home.

"He also wants his children to see more of their granddad. To Ted, this means absolutely everything, and he'll travel just as soon as he is allowed to board that plane."

Beckham fell out with his father in 2005 after Ted published the book David Beckham: My Son, against the star's wishes.
