THE ROCK'S FAMILY MOVIE TOPS U.S. BOX-OFFICE CHART

DWAYNE 'THE ROCK' JOHNSON's new movie THE GAME PLAN has wrestled its way to debut at the top of the U.S. box-office chart.

The wrestler-turned-actor plays an American football star whose bachelor lifestyle is threatened by the arrival of a daughter he didn't know he had in the family film, which opened with takings of $22.7 million (GBP11.35 million) over the weekend (28-30Sep07).

The Kingdom, starring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner, is another new entry at two with $17.7 million (GBP8.85 million), while last week's number one movie Resident Evil: Extinction drops to three with $8 million (GBP4 million).
