PEGG HOOKED ON THE GYM

HOT FUZZ star SIMON PEGG has become a fitness fiend after working out for his last two films - and now he's looking for parts that encourage him to stay in shape.

The British funnyman shaped up to play a fit cop in Hot Fuzz and then put his body through its paces again for new film Run Fat Boy Run.

And he admits he really liked the process of getting fit and toned.

Pegg says, "I really got into it. Once you're in the gym and you get in the zone, you start thinking, 'Wow, I can make a difference to how I look and how I feel - all it takes is three hours lifting metal every day.'

"I started enjoying running. I started to make playlists for my iPod and I'd stick it on random play, and every other song was great, plus it's a great time to think when you're working out.

"I got trainers and it was really fun to work with them. I made friends with them and they all got thank yous on the Hot Fuzz credit.

"I've just decided that for my next film I'm gonna be really thin, but not Christian Bale-in-The Machinist thin. That was incredibly distracting I think. I think Christian is an amazing actor but that was beyond method, so I'm going back to the gym."
