WAY: 'EMO IS GARBAGE'

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE frontman GERARD WAY hates his band's categorisation as 'emo' - and has branded the genre 'f**king garbage'.

The singer insists the group's sound differs greatly from bands who are classed as emo - emotional hardcore rock music - and has urged critics to compare emo and My Chemical Romance side by side to see the difference.

He says, "Emo's a pile of s**t, f**king garbage. There are bands we get lumped in with that are considered emo and by default, that starts to make us emo.

"All I can say to anyone actually putting the records next to each other and listening to them (is) - there are no similarities."
