SPADER FORGOT HIS MUM'S BIRTHDAY ON EMMY NIGHT
JAMES SPADER was so stunned to win an Emmy Award on Sunday (16Sep07) he forgot to wish his mother a happy birthday during his acceptance speech.

The Boston Legal star was so convinced hot favourite James Gandolfini would win the Best Actor prize he didn't pen an acceptance speech - and admits he forgot his own name as he took the stage. After joking, "I feel like I just stole a pile of money from the Mob - and they're all sitting right over there," Spader rambled through a dazed acceptance speech and only remembered his mother's big day when he got backstage. He says, "I told every news organisation that I really just wanted to wish my mother a happy birthday. I wish I had remembered out there on the stage."
