SPECTOR JURY TO RESUME DELIBERATION AFTER STALEMATE WEEK

The jury in the PHIL SPECTOR murder trial will resume deliberation on Monday (17Sep07) after failing to reach a verdict in its first week of reviewing the evidence.

The 12 members spent last week (ends14Sep07) locked in a room in Downtown Los Angeles - ironically in the same building and on the same floor as the room where O.J. Simpson's jury decided to acquit the former sports star of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.

Through the course of last week, the jury submitted no questions and only one request to handle the gun that killed actress Lana Clarkson. The jury foreman hasn't asked to revisit evidence and testimony from the 77 witnesses who have taken the stand since the trial began in April (07).

Spector, 67, is accused of second-degree murder in the 2003 shooting death of Clarkson. The record producer's lawyers maintain the depressed actress shot herself at Spector's California mansion.
