50 CENT TO SPEND $2 MILLION ON SIX MILE JOURNEY

Rapper 50 CENT is set to spend over $2 million (GBP1 million) on a six-mile (9.7 kilometres) journey through London to honour separate performances at two award shows on the same night, according to reports.

The Candy Shop star is performing at the Vodafone Live Music Awards in West London next Wednesday (19Sep07), but is also booked for the MOBO Awards at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, south-east London afterwards.

The star - real name Curtis Jackson - is reported to have booked three helicopters, a fleet of SUVs and a team of ex-special forces to ensure he and his entourage have a smooth journey.

A source tells British newspaper The Mirror, "He is aware that it's extravagant but he wants to get there in good time and chill out before his performance."

A spokesman for the star adds, "He'll do whatever it takes to get to the MOBOs in ample time."
