PRINCE THREATENS TO SUE YOUTUBE

Pop superstar PRINCE is threatening to sue the men behind videosharing website YouTube.com after clips from his recent London concerts appeared on the site.

The Purple Rain hitmaker announced he is considering action against the site to "reclaim his art on the internet".

More than 1,000 unauthorised clips of the star performing at London's O2 Arena have since been removed from the website.

But the singer says he will continue to target online services that infringe his copyright by selling or publishing unauthorised material.

A Prince spokesman says, "Prince believes strongly that... copyrights should be protected across the board."

Prince regularly champions artists' rights and once threatened to sue record company Warner Brothers over the ownership of his master tapes in the 1990s.
