VAN ZANDT TO BE HONOURED
Late singer/songwriter TOWNES VAN ZANDT is to be honoured with the President's Award by the Americana Music Association.
Emmylou Harris, Bruce Hornsby and bluegrass star Ricky Skaggs are among the celebrities who will perform Van Zandt songs at the AMA's annual awards show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on 1 November (07).
The award will be accepted by Van Zandt's friend, songwriter Guy Clark, who will also perform one of the late star's songs. Van Zandt died from a heart attack in 1997.
