REMY MA: 'GET FOXY OUT OF JAIL'

Rapper REMY MA has hit out at U.S. authorities for jailing FOXY BROWN, insisting her fellow hip-hop star was only jailed because of her fame.

Brown, real name Inga Marchand, was sent to New York's Rikers Island jail on 22 August (07) for violating probation from an assault conviction dating back to last year (06), following her recent arrest for assaulting her neighbour and driving on a suspended license.

But Remy Ma - who has previously spent time at Rikers Island prison herself - believes the cops should be focusing on convicting more dangerous criminals than the Candy star.

She tells AllHipHop.com, "It's (only) 'cause she's in the newspaper, it's a high-profile case, and the judge and DA (District Attorney) don't want to seem lenient. Be fair!

"I feel sorry for her! That's crazy. Get her the f**k out! (She's in there) for some dumb s**t. People fight, people throw things, and every f**king thing, people blow (stuff) out of proportion.

"I was on Rikers Island, that s**t is disgusting! The place is disgusting, the food is disgusting, the place is dirty, filthy, nasty - women are in there pregnant! She's sick right now, sick."

Brown was sentenced to three years probation last year (06) after she was found guilty of assaulting two manicurists in 2004. She was also arrested in Florida in February (07) for battery and resisting arrest in a Pembroke Pines beauty store.
