THE GAME TO STAND TRIAL FOR GUN THREAT

Rapper THE GAME is to stand trial for threatening a man with a gun during a basketball game earlier this year (07).

The Dreams star - real name Jayceon Taylor - appeared at Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (04Sep07) for a preliminary hearing in relation to the felony charges dating back to the February incident, in which he allegedly hit a basketball player on the opposing team before threatening to shoot him.

The hip-hop star is also facing charges of possession of a firearm in a school zone and exhibiting the gun in the presence of a police officer, and could be sentenced to five years behind bars if he is convicted on all counts. He has pleaded not guilty.

Taylor is due back in court on 25 September (07) - just five days after he is due to appear in court to face separate charges of impersonating a police officer last November (06).
