PRINCESS DIANA'S DRESS FAILS TO ATTRACT BIDS AT AUCTION

One of PRINCESS OF WALES' favourite gowns failed to attract any bids after it was put up for auction earlier this month (12Aug07).

The gown is a pale-blue silk chiffon evening dress which Diana wore for the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.

The bidding was expected to start at $125,000 (GBP62,500) on auction site eBay - with all proceeds going to charity.

The gown is one of four Diana dresses WE TV network bought at Christie's auction in New York a decade ago (97).
