ALLEN: 'I'LL NEVER GO BACK TO AMERICA'

British pop star LILY ALLEN insists she will never return to America following a recent U.S. working visa revocation.

The Smile singer was unable to renew her working visa in the States recently, reportedly because of her assault on a photographer in London earlier this year (07).

But Allen insists she doesn't care.

Speaking at England's V Festival on Sunday (18Aug07), she says, "I'll never go back there. The immigration officers are a bunch of w**kers."

FOO FIGHTERS JOINED ON STAGE BY GROHL'S MOTHER

FOO FIGHTERS fans at English festival V were treated to a special guest on Sunday (19Aug07) - the band were joined on stage by frontman DAVE GROHL's mother.

The rocker's hard-men image was dented when Grohl surprised the crowd at the Stafford, England gig by inviting his mother onstage halfway through the set.

He told the crowd, "A lot of people here tonight are important to me. But there is one person that is more important than any of you motherf**kers. Virginia Hammond Grohl everybody."

Virginia then joined her son as he played Up In Arms.

BROOKS COMES OUT OF RETIREMENT

Superstar GARTH BROOKS has confirmed he's making a country comeback, seven years after he announced his retirement.

The 45-year-old declared his intention to cease touring and recording in 2000, but has now changed his mind with a new single and a greatest hits collection, which includes a further three new tracks, coming out later this year (07).

And Brooks, who is married to singer Trisha Yearwood, is looking forward to seeing how he fares against a new generation of country stars.

He says, "Sure I'm scared to death - I'm rusty and I've seen these young guys. But I'm a competitor and when it's game day you start competing.

"Keith Urban is a beautiful guy, and he's just one of about 50 guys out there I'll have to face this fall so if you don't bring your A game you're going to get run over.

"And I'm Mr. Yearwood now so I want to make her proud."

But Brooks has no plans to tour and hints he may head back to retirement after the new material's release.

He says, "We'll go back to what I was doing before and sit on our butts for a while after the promo work for the new album is complete."

PINK HITS OUT AT SPEARS + BUSH AT FESTIVAL

American pop star PINK hit out at both troubled singer BRITNEY SPEARS and U.S. President GEORGE W. BUSH during her appearance at a British music festival on Sunday (19Aug07).

Pink - real name Alecia Moore - changed the lyrics of her song Don't Let Me Get Me from "...tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears / She's so pretty..." to "...tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears / She's so crazy...".

Later in her performance at the V Festival in Staffordshire, England, Pink played her track Dear Mr. President in front of images of Bush, explosions, soldiers and crying children.

Introducing the song, Pink told the crowd, "I want to get political for a second. Maybe after one year of playing this song, the world might be a better place."

SIXX RECALLS 'BLASTED' MOTHER PARTYING WITH PRYOR

MOTLEY CRUE rocker NIKKI SIXX has vivid childhood memories of his mother leaving him to look after his younger sister for a couple of days - before returning in a 'blasted' state with comedian RICHARD PRYOR.

The 48-year-old, who went on to battle heroin addiction in the late '80s, got his love of partying from his mum, who was friends with the late Pryor - himself a drug addict for many years.

Sixx tells American magazine Blender, "We used to live on Sunset Boulevard, in an apartment in the Sunset Tower. I had a very young sister, and my mom would take off and do her thing and I would watch my sister for a couple of days at a time.

"I have one very clear memory of playing in the parking garage with my sister and a car pulling in and my mom and Richard getting out. They were blasted.

"And she said, 'Oh, I love you so very much,' and just went straight up to the apartment and left us in the garage. That's the clearest memory."

Meanwhile, the top two positions in the European albums chart remain the same for a third week - Mika's Life In Cartoon Motion continues to occupy the top spot, while Nelly Furtado's Loose sits at two.

HILTON TO APPEAR ON CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER?

U.S. socialite PARIS HILTON is in talks to appear in the new series of British reality show CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER, according to reports.

The Simple Life star has been offered $600,000 (GBP300,000) to star in the forthcoming series, reports British newspaper The Sun.

A show insider tells the paper, "She wants people to see that she is not a bimbo or wild child. She's actually smart and funny, with lots of interesting things to say. She would easily be the star of the show - but obviously won't do it unless the money is right."

ABORIGINES ENTERTAIN KIDMAN + JACKMAN

NICOLE KIDMAN and HUGH JACKMAN were the guests of honour at an aboriginal welcoming ceremony for their new movie AUSTRALIA recently.

The two stars and the movie's cast and crew, including Oscar-nominated director Baz Luhrmann, were entertained by the Miriwoong and Gajirrawoong communities at Kununurra in West Australia.

Kidman and Jackman watched traditional dancing and were told some legendary local stories.

Kidman tells Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph, "It was beautiful to receive the blessings. I felt very honoured to be a part of this deeply spiritual land. The warmth and kindness (they) are showing us is very much appreciated."

WAHLER SUED BY TOW-TRUCK DRIVER HE ASSAULTED

American reality TV star JASON WAHLER is being sued by a tow-truck driver he allegedly called 'n**ger', 'motherf**cker', 'fag' and 'fatass' during an assault in 2006.

In legal papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday (17Aug07), tow-truck driver Jonathan Wallace claims Wahler started "thrusting his chest... while unleashing a verbal barrage of racial statements and swearing profusely" during the September 2006 incident.

Wallace, who is seeking $200,000 (GBP100,000) in damages, also alleges Wahler punched him in his left eye and repeatedly punched another tow-truck driver in the face.

In March (07), the 20-year-old Laguna Beach star admitted battery and was sentenced to 60 days in prison. He was also ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and anger management classes.

The incident was the first in a string of alcohol-related arrests for Wahler, who entered rehab in May (07). That same month, he was charged with assault, criminal trespass and underage drinking in relation to an April (07) incident when he allegedly hurled racial and homophobic abuse at police while being arrested for punching a hotel security guard.

Prosecutors claim that incident violated his probation for the September 2006 tow-truck driver assault.

"And I laughed hysterically when I heard that. I laughed because if there are people out there devoted enough to make a club that hates me, I've gotta be doing something right."
