PORTISHEAD founder GEOFF BARROW has launched a blistering attack on the man behind LILY ALLEN and AMY WINEHOUSE's success for turning decent songs into "funky supermarket muzak".
In a posting on his MySpace.com page, the Glory Box hitmaker attacks producer Mark Ronson for taking on the job of remixing Bob Dylan's classics for a new best of collection.
A flattered Ronson admits he was amazed to get the call to revamp his hero's greatest tunes, but Barrow insists the producer should have turned the job down out of respect.
He writes, "I think it takes amazing talent to turn decent songs into s**t funky supermarket muzak.
"I also heard he's remixing Dylan... some music industry tit thinks it needs remixing. You would think he would have the respect to say no to the job, obviously not."
