MCPHEE TO WEAR KIDMAN'S FAKE PREGNANT BELLY

AMERICAN IDOL star KATHARINE McPHEE has escaped having to undergo hours of prosthetic fitting to play a heavily pregnant woman in her film debut - because a fake belly once worn by NICOLE KIDMAN fits her perfectly.

McPhee, who stars alongside Adam Sandler in the movie, Happy Bunny, first tried on the belly Katherine Heigl wore in recent comedy Knocked Up, only to find it was the wrong shape for her body.

She says, "I tried on Katherine Heigl's belly. I tried on Nicole Kidman's belly. And they said, 'Oh, this one fits perfectly. We don't need to try any more.'

"I was so happy, because I didn't have to sit through hours of prosthetic fitting. There was nothing wrong with Katherine Heigl's belly. But every stomach is different.

"It's light foam, but it makes you sweat. Heigl's felt funny on my stomach and sat higher. (In House Bunny) I'm in my ninth month (of pregnancy), so I should be hanging kind of low."
