NASH TO PLAY MARKET REDEVELOPMENT PROTEST GIG

British singer KATE NASH is joining ex-BLUR star GRAHAM COXON by campaigning against a multi-million pound plan to redevelop a London market.

The pop newcomer has announced a concert on Thursday (09Aug07) at a currently undisclosed venue to raise funds for the Save Camden Stables Market campaign.

Nash's move follows Coxon's comments earlier this week (begs06Aug07) that a redevelopment means the market is destined to become "a mediocre, modernist piece of crap".

He added, "This is a pathetic attempt at modernisation, What's going to be in it? More Starbucks coffee houses and Carphone Warehouses?

"It should be full of tailors, shoemakers, cheesemakers and independent shops, but of course they are not going to do that."
