THE MOTHER OF SPEARS' EX ASSISTANT SPEAKS OUT
LATEST: The mother of BRITNEY SPEARS' former personal assistant has hit back at reports her daughter is hoping to get rich quick from her brief stint as the pop superstar's sidekick.
Shannon Funk's mother Maureen insists her daughter "isn't like that," and has no plans to reveal all about Spears' secret life, despite reports the sacked assistant has signed a $500,000 (GBP250,000) deal to write a book about her time as a top PA.
Maureen Funk tells Life + Style magazine, "My daughter is a terrific person and she has been hounded by the media since news that she had left Britney broke.
"Contrary to what people may think, this situation is not about money, as Shannon is not that type of person."
And despite reports Spears sacked her daughter, Maureen admits she feels sorry for the star.
She adds, "I feel sorry for Britney Spears, as she is under a lot of pressure every day and is a really sweet woman, despite all the stories."
