LATEST: The BBC has slammed reports it has banned rapper THE GAME from future radio interviews, insisting the broadcaster would never take such drastic action.
Complaints were lodged after the hip-hop star called gay males "faggots" and "not real men" during an appearance on Radio 1's The Jo Whiley Show in July last year (06).
Last week (ends27Jul07), a BBC committee meeting ruled, "The Game's comments were very offensive, completely unacceptable and clearly homophobic."
However, network bosses denied they had completely banned the rapper from appearing on its airwaves, instead choosing to issue a stern reminder about language the BBC would not tolerate.
A Radio 1 representative tells AllHipHop.com, "The BBC does not ban artists, but we do have editorial guidelines making clear that we do not condone homophobic comments or bad language, which all artists are expected to follow when they are on air during a live interview."
