METCALFE UNPLUGGED FOR BAHAMAS DEBUT

Former DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star JESSE METCALFE showed off his musical skills at the weekend (21Jul07) when he performed an unplugged set of new songs at the opening of Cain at the Cove in the Bahamas.

The actor was a last-minute addition to the festivities at the new music venue and hoped his music would come as a surprise to many.

Metcalfe says, "I think a lot of people will be surprised to learn that I actually have talent. I love playing to an audience. It's really gratifying."

The celebrities who caught Metcalfe's show included actresses Jamie King and Chloe Sevigny.

His acoustic guitar set featured songs he wrote and recorded for his upcoming album, Darklight.

The event was sponsored by vodka company Snow Queen, but teetotaller Metcalfe steered clear of alcohol after recently completing a stint in rehab.

He tells People magazine, "I drank nothing stronger than (energy drink) Red Bull. I'm taking care of myself. I have too much going on right now to mess it up."
