Rock band KAISER CHIEFS are seeking career advice from an unlikely source - pop stars THE SPICE GIRLS.

The Ruby stars met up with Spice Girl Mel Chisholm recently, and were surprised when she offered them some words of wisdom.

Keyboardist, Peanut, 29, says, "Mel C told us how they dealt with their fame in the US. It was useful to hear.

"They were always in danger of being mobbed so they'd jump on their tour bus to travel a couple of metres to their private jet instead of walking."

KASABIAN TURN DOWN GIGS TO AVOID FAN CARNAGE

British rockers KASABIAN fears they will have to stop playing at intimate venues in order to avoid causing 'carnage.'

The Empire hitmakers recently played on a small stage in Ibiza to the delirium of their fans - but the band believe it's getting to dangerous for them to play at intimate venues.

Frontman Tom Meighan, 26, says, "It was amazing but that's the last time you'll see us on that stage.

"The band is getting bigger and bigger and if we played next year it'd be dangerous - we bring to much carnage to the town.

"I had to be smuggled out with a towel over my head like Michael Jackson - it was mental."

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno, 26, adds, "We'd love to do it again, but if we played the same venue it'd probably be ripped apart."

THE CURE SINGER PREPARES ANNIVERSARY DOCUMENTARY

THE CURE frontman ROBERT SMITH is already working on a DVD documentary to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary - even though the landmark doesn't take place until 2009.

The Boys Don't Cry singer has so much vintage footage of The Cure over the last three decades, he plans to broadcast much of it exclusively online.

Smith tells website Billboard.com, "We're planning on an hour per decade (for the documentary), but there's at least 20 hours per decade on videotape and other weird formats.

"The documentary will include interviews with everybody who has ever been in the band, and everybody who has been an important part of The Cure."

The LA Galaxy player says, "Victoria was doing everything, like baking cakes - everything possible.

"I actually think I'm going to be the school PE teacher! She promised everything possible to get the kids in the school they liked. She's done well."

The Factory Girl star attended a private school in Berkshire, England at the tender age of eight - but insists it was on of the best decisions she has ever made.

She says, "I was really young to make the decision, but my parents are amazing people and let me go there. Obviously, at eight, you can't really make a life decision, so as soon as I got there, I was terribly homesick, and it was tough.

"But I stuck it out, and after a month of being miserable, I started to love it. I had the best time there."

The From Dusk To Dawn star, who started acting in the 1980s, often watches a movie and then becomes shocked when he appears on screen because he had no idea he was in it.

Trejo, 63, says,"I'll be watching TV and all of a sudden I'll think, 'Hey, I'm in this!

"A lot of the times I don't even know the names of them. I just show up. From 1985, when I first started, to 1990, I did a s**tload of B-movies about prisons.

"They would always say, 'Get that Mexican guy with the big tattoo.'

"I'd show up and have one line, like, 'Kill 'em all!' or somethin'"

BOLAN FAMILY GIVES TRIBUTE BAND BLESSING

The family of late rocker MARC BOLAN have given their blessing to a Scottish musician who completed unfinished songs by the former T-REX singer.

Bolan's son, Rolan has congratulated rocker Alex 'Midge' Peebles for turning unfinished 39 pieces of the glam rock band's music into 15 songs.

The Hot Love vocalist spent six months working on the tracks, and were created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the T-Rex frontman's death in September 1977

Rolan says, "Since my return to Britain in 1997, my father's legacy has been a strange mystery to me, even though I did have the chance to be surrounded by his music.

"There is so much which is yet to reach our souls. This project is one of those special gems."

The Hot Love tracks will feature on forthcoming album 21st Century Stance.

The From Dusk To Dawn star find actors who practice the intense acting style take themselves too seriously - and makes sure they know of his displeasure.

Trejo, 63, says, "I've seen guys take this way too seriously. I've had to pull a couple of them aside and say, 'Listen, I will beat you to death, I don't know who you think you're talking to.'

"They go 'But I'm in character!' And I say, 'Well your character's about to get his ass beat.'

"I can't stand rude people."
