COFFEE/WHISKY CONCOCTION LED TO BROCK'S BLOODY MESS

MODEST MOUSE frontman ISAAC BROCK blames a pre-show concoction of coffee and whisky he drank to soothe a sore throat for his recent chest-slashing stage antics.

The singer stunned bandmates and fans during a March (07) show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota when he slashed himself twice across the chest and performed the concert with blood streaming from the wound.

Brock admits a sore throat is to blame for his bloody actions.

He explains, "I just got feisty. I was actually having a pretty damn-good time.

"I had lost my voice during the Portland (Oregon) shows and if you drink a thing of warn Scotch, it opens up your vocal cords a bit. That's a recording trick I learned.

"So I was drinking some sort of single-malt whisky and coffee and I was just hyper."
