UNKNOWN LANDS COVETED LOVELY BONES ROLE
Unknown teenager SAOIRSE RONAN has won the chance to play the rape victim heroine of filmmaker PETER JACKSON's hotly anticipated new film adaptation of bestseller THE LOVELY BONES.
The youngster has been plucked from obscurity to play tragic 14-year-old Susie Salmon in the movie, which already features Oscar winner Rachel Weisz and Ryan Gosling among its cast.
The film's story follows Salmon as she observes her family from beyond the grave after she is raped and killed by a neighbour.
Filming will start in Lord of The Rings director Jackson's native New Zealand and Pennsylvania later this year (07).
